Martin Smith is a management consultant working on strategy, growth, and pricing issues for leading companies. He has a public policy background including research for an MP on the Treasury Select Committee and a think tank. As a lobbyist for UK small business organisations in Westminster and Brussels, he used EU internal market law to help convince the government to end a VAT loophole resulting from an old EU law that was being abused by large retailers for competitive advantage at the expense of their smaller competitors.
